Contemporary wedding photography for Kingston, Toronto, Ottawa, Picton, and everywhere in between.

Hi Lucia!  I know you’re reading this!  Ha!  :D  Here are some of my favourite photos from Lucia and Grand’s engagement shoot in Port Credit!  Their wedding isn’t until October but it’s always nice to have a warm, sunny day for engagement shoots.  See you guys in another month!

I love how freaky the trees look in this one.  Shooting through stuff always equals good times.

I’ve been watching MuchMoreMusic every now and then while eating lunch in the afternoon, and to my surprise they actually play music videos again!  Their new format is awesome, and they play some pretty random stuff that isn’t necessarily getting radio play right now.  The other day I saw a video for “1901″ by a French band called Phoenix and it was super catchy.  So I checked out their new album Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix and it’s really good!  Kind of like catchy electronic pop.  If you’re looking for some new music, check it out.  Plus, they’re walking through a cemetary in this band photo.  Really?  A cemetary?  Ha!

Here’s the slide show from Wendy and Carlos’ wedding!  This was the first time I had the chance to work with Anthony Agostino from Viva Productions so it was cool to see how they worked and talk weddings with them!  Some highlights from the wedding include an awesome ceremony at St. Mary’s Cathedral downtown, a huge wedding party full of photogenic bridesmaids, groomsmen, maids of honour, and flower girls, and Carlos’ hat, which was a tribute to his late grandfather who wore a similar hat!  Enjoy the photos!

……and here’s their wedding slide show!  Ceremony at St. James church near Queen’s University campus and reception at the awesome Renaissance, on Queen Street.  Love that place.  And check out the car that John’s dad let them drive for the wedding!  Pretty sweet ride!  :D

Since Patrycja and John live out of the province, we didn’t get a chance to do an engagement shoot until the week of their wedding!  But it worked out well because the weather co-operated and we had a great chance to get to know each other a bit more and get comfortable shooting.  We started our shoot in Amherstview (Patrycja’s mom lives right down the street from me!) and finished in the west end of Kingston for a bit of variety.  Here are some of my favourites:

Oula and Denis had a huge (and multi-cultural!) wedding at the Hellenic Meeting and Reception Centre in Ottawa!  This was the first wedding I’ve shot where the reception speeches were in English, French, and Arabic!  It’s fun because it keeps me on my toes and helps you really focus in on the moments when you aren’t 100% sure what people are saying or what’s coming next.  Oula and Denis both have really warm, friendly families, though, so it made my job pretty easy.  Here’s a slide show of some of my favourite images (warning: the slide show has a LOT of photos, so get comfy!).  Special thanks to Jodi Laundry from Daydream Photography in Ottawa for second shooting with me!

Calverly Family
August 14th, 2009

Shooting families is always fun because it’s such a different dynamic than a wedding day (and sometimes it’s nice not shooting a dress and a tux)!  Jackie emailed me about doing some family photos at Lemoine Point and here are some of my favourites.  I like that we were able to get a mix of traditional portaits (the kind for framing on the wall and to send to aunts and uncles) and also a bit of weirder, more artsy stuff (maybe also for framing, if you’re weird like me).  :D

Glasses?!
August 13th, 2009

I hadn’t had my eyes checked in about 5 years, so when my wife randomly suggested I go, it was a good idea.  Turns out I have astigmatism in my left eye (my shooting eye!  Nooooo!) and I need glasses.  It’s weird suddenly having to wear glasses when you’re neither really young or really old.  Most people either already have glasses when you meet them, or will never have glasses it seems.  I don’t mind them so far, because they make everything really crisp and clear (I had no idea my eyes were as fuzzy as they are), but they DO distort things a bit and change my angle of view.  I feel like I’m looking through a wide angle lens.  Now I just need to figure out if I’m going to shoot with my glasses on or off.  Here I am, looking thrilled to be wearing my new glasses.  :D

More Ottawa Family Photos!
August 6th, 2009

I did a marathon family photo shoot in Ottawa a while back and when other families saw the results they wanted to do the same thing!  So I went back and shot another group of families at Andrew Haydon Park again! A new family arrived every 30 minutes starting at about 8:30 am and lasting until around 6 pm and I think we ended up with some nice variety.  Here’s a slide show of some of my favourites:

Here are some photos from Jasmine and Yeung’s engagement shoot in Unionville!  As I was shooting, Michael from StillMotion shot a love story video that I think he’s going to show at the reception!  They always do awesome work, so I’m really looking forward to seeing the final product!  Here are a few of my favourites from the shoot:
