Here’s the slide show of Geri and Ryan’s wedding in Mississauga! I met them at a Starbucks coffe shop in Toronto last summer and have been looking forward to their wedding for a while because they’re a super nice couple and it’s always fun to shoot in Toronto. The reception was actually at the same venue that I shot one of my first Toronto weddings at — the Pavillion Royale! I second shot for Kara Frans, a really friendly photographer who I met on the Nikonians forum (and also ran into at WPPI this year), and even though it was a few summers ago it still feels like yesterday!
I’m totally stealing this from one of my clients (hi Josh!) but it’s a pretty funny video, especially if you’re a fan of The Dark Knight. For most of the movie, I could deal with Christian Bale’s Batman-voice, but towards the end it got a little out of control. Here’s a spoof video making fun:
For Father’s Day, my wife got me the best present ever — tickets to go see Rush at the Molson Amphitheatre in Toronto with my friend Scott. I played drums in different bands throughout highschool and University and always enjoyed Rush (any drummer will tell you Neil Peart is the man). April makes fun of them, saying their music is all about Dungeons and Dragons, faries, and orcs. Not quite true, as this lyric from By-Tor & The Snow Dog shows:
I. at the tobes of hades
The tobes of hades
Lit by flickering torchlight
The netherworld is gathered in the glare
Prince by-tor takes the cavern
To the north light
The sign of eth is rising in the air
By-tor, knight of darkness,
Centurion of evil
Devils prince
Well, okay, so it’s music for nerds. But still, they are CRAZY talented. And at age 55 or so (I didn’t look it up so don’t quote me) they rock really hard. Like, SO HARD. They played for about 3.5 hours straight (unlike a certain other band who played a few weeks later and only played for around an hour…..*coughcoughColdplaycough*). Anyways, I just wanted to put it out there because 1) it was an awesome Father’s Day present and 2) live concerts with super talented musicians rule. Here’s a clip of Rush a few years back, teaching Brazil how to rock so hard:
Hooray! I was accepted as a member of the AGWPJA, a group of really talented wedding photographers around the world! If you’re looking for inspiration, or just enjoy looking at some amazing photography, I definitely recommend checking out their site. There’s also a pretty cool mini-magazine thing they do called Wedpix that offers great articles about photography and the wedding industry. I’m pretty psyched about being accepted into the group! Now if only they had cool decoder rings or something………..
I’m shooting Colleen and Adam’s wedding next summer here in Kingston, and it should be a lot of fun! I’m so lucky that I get to work with the coolest couples ever. It makes photo shoots so easy! Here are some samples from their engagement shoot at Adam’s family cottage.
Here’s a slideshow of Paul and Val’s super cool wedding at Rockcliffe Park and the Great Canadian Theatre Company (an awesome venue for a unique party)! They’re the coolest couple and we had a great time shooting the day! Enjoy the slide show!
Here are a few photos from Amie & Shem’s engagement session! Their wedding is this October, so it should be nice and cool and hopefully nice and colourful as well. Colour is my friend.
